Project X review

It hasn't even got a proper title. Actually….that’s probably a very good thing considering that it’s not even a proper film. Well it is, in the way that it’s in the cinema. However I would be embarrassed if I was another film and I had to associate myself with it.

At this point I would normally say “on the other hand” but there really is no other “hand.”

I have no idea what the film was trying to achieve? It really wasn’t funny. Romantic? No way. Action? Just.

The acting was terrible; I wasn’t a fan of the Shia LaBeouf impression by Oliver Cooper playing ‘Costa’. In comparison with “Superbad” (a similar themed film) at least “Superbad” had a story! I got to know the characters in it; still to this day people are making McLovin-isms. I wasn’t a fan of the video camera style directing either. It was trying to be original. But failed.

Young people will love it, due to the partying, wild antics, sex, drugs and partying. From that respect, it succeeded; I won’t be watching it again anytime soon though. As a film? It’s a poor piece of cinematography. Mainly down to the same old “student-life” format being regurgitated.

I won’t be gate-crashing!

The 2012 F1 Car Chase

There will be a record six World Championship winning drivers on the ‘Formula 1’ grid at the start of the 2012 season.  This is quite possibly one of the most highly anticipated seasons in the history of the sport.

The main challengers then, there’s no other place to start than with the current champion Sebastian Vettel. He has the chance to become only the third driver to win three championships in a row, and there is absolutely no reason to bet against him doing it. His team mate at Red Bull, Mark Webber, is possibly entering his final season. The 35 year old has never quite been able to match his team mate over the past two seasons, but he’ll give it a good go.

McLaren are the closest rivals to Red Bull and the all British line up will push their car all the way. Jenson Button had a phenomenal season last year where he out did his partner and performed spectacularly in all different weather conditions. Lewis Hamilton had a tricky season last year which was littered with personal issues and on track shenanigans with opponents, but he will be ready to bounce back.

Ferrari will try to win, despite having a poor showing at the winter testing, but as we all know their number one driver, Fernando Alonso, will be vying for the title in any car. On the other hand his team mate Felipe Massa has a lot to prove following a poor 2011 season, and has to show he still deserves a seat in the prancing horse.

The dark horse now in my eyes though is Mercedes. Now this team has had time to settle and gel they can now really push on. And who can really not like ‘one of the greats’ Michael Schumacher, or his cool, calm and collected team mate Nico Rosberg.

Finally, the 2007 World Champion Kimi Raikonnen returns after two years away from the sport. It will be interesting to see how he gets on at Lotus.

In what will be a close season, my pick is Jenson Button. However it’s near impossible to be certain, what is certain though, it will be exciting.

How to Disable a Disabled person.

As some of you may know, I am disabled; you also may know that I usually drive/roll in an electric wheelchair. Unfortunately a week ago I had a run in with a set of stairs…and broke it…just a bit.

This event has now bound me to my manual wheelchair for a couple of weeks. Although many people wouldn’t think there’s much of a difference. They’re wrong, there is.

You see I now have to rely on other people to take me to places at certain times. Don’t get me wrong a lot of people are helping me though and are very nice to take time out of their schedule for me, for which I am very grateful. But It has completely taken away my independence.

Before, I could go somewhere when I wanted or if I wanted to. It’s very distressing and quite upsetting. I spend years trying to find some independence, when I do though; I somehow find a way of losing it.

The problem is that until you lose your independence once, (in my case now twice) you don’t realise how important it actually is and how grateful you should be.

Wow, that’s quite a sombre way of ending the blog! I’ll try to cheer you up: cake, Christmas, money!
